COMMISSIONS

"Julia, I absolutely love my commissioned painting! It's exactly what I pictured and it looks perfect in its new home! From the beginning process of speaking with you about what I wanted, to the end process of you helping suggest exactly the right frame, to now seeing your talent come to life in your painting, I couldn’t be happier!" - Pennsylvania buyer

I would love to work with you to create the perfect custom piece for your home! I work directly with clients as well as with interior designers and I also offer virtual consultations for those who would like to discuss their project further.

A little more about the commission process below!

The following information is helpful to get the process started:

  • 3-4 images of my previous work to use as a starting point.
  • 2-3 colors you would like to see included in the piece.
  • Fabric swatches, paint chips, and photos of the space are all helpful if available.

Please note the following terms for commissions:

  • A 50% deposit is required upfront. The balance will be due upon final approval of the painting before it ships.
  • Please note that commissions usually take 10-12 weeks to complete, but I will be happy to try to accommodate deadlines if possible. I will give you a timeline once I review your project.
  • Two rounds of revisions are included in the process. Additional changes will incur a change fee.
  • All commission sales are binding and final. I want you to love the process and your final product, and I will do everything I can to ensure a wonderful experience!

Shipping:

  • For larger pieces, the client is responsible for shipping costs, for which a quote can be discussed prior to scheduling the commission. Local pick-up is also available for clients in the Charlotte area.
  • Shipping occurs after the painting is dry enough to safely transport. I usually wait about 2-3 weeks to ship. Once it’s ready to ship I will notify you.

Framing:

  • All pieces will be wired and ready to hang.
  • If you are interested in framing your painting, I will make frame recommendations once the size and composition of the piece are determined.
  • I have a local (Charlotte, NC) framer that I use for my pieces, and will be happy to work with you to select the best frame for your painting. The lead time is approximately 4-6 weeks.
  • The price of the frame depends on the style and the size of the painting, and will be billed separately.

Thank you so much for your interest. If you would like to move forward with a commission or you would like to discuss any aspect of the process, please fill out the above form or reach out to me via email at julia@juliahetzel.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
